He's Growing Up
No, your eyes are not deceiving you I am updating my blog. And it's for a very special reason. Peyton had his preschool graduation last night and that just means one more step closer to kindergarten. I'm quite sure I'm not ready for him to take this big step in his life but he certainly can't wait. In fact, he asked us last night if when he woke up this morning if he could go to kindergarten. Then we had to explain the whole summer concept. A concept, as two teachers, is very near and dear to our hearts.
The theme for the program was "Power Lab" as in God's Power. Ms. Dawn and Ms. Kathy and the rest of the staff did an amazing job with the music, dancing (in a Baptist church, imagine!), and decorations. Here's the proof:
Peyton and Madeline rockin'
The graduate with his diploma.
Peyton with Reid and Beau. They've been in preschool together since they were in the infant class.
Peyton with his buddies Jack and Morgan.
Peyton with his wonderful, wonderful teacher Ms. Dawn. I could not have asked for a better teacher for my son. If I can't be with my son 24/7 I'm so glad he has the MOST loving, sweet, fun teacher any 5-year-old could ask for. We love you Ms. Dawn.
Great-Grandad Bob and Grandma Frances came to see (and help with Rylee Jane).
Ryan and the girls were there, too. Madison was a big help with Rylee. She is such a little mom and very helpful to have around. Maci has been giving Peyton the 411 on kindergarten as she is about to be a veteran of that whole deal. She informed me the other day they don't have a graduation for kindergarten-the nerve!
Grandma and Grandad attending their 2nd preschool program in a week.
Mommy and Daddy with our baby. Let the countdown begin for Life Milestone: Starting Kindergarten.

Easter Hunt
Last Day of Spring Break
On our last official day of Spring Break (Sunday) we headed to Aunt Jacque's pool to hang out and enjoy the beautiful weather. This is a pretty regular occurance especially this time of year but I just had some great pictures I had to share. And we wanted to tell Aunt Jacque and Uncle Guy thanks for all the hours of fun at their pool so far and to come.

Henscratch Farms
On Thursday of Spring Break we headed out to Henscratch Farms after lunch with the kids. Peyton was looking forward to "sorting" the eggs. I'm not sure where he came up with that term but hey, whatever. Well, we missed the egg gathering by a few minutes but we enjoyed feeding the chickens and just a pleasant day outside. Brady immediately liked feeding the chickens and even got brave enough to taunt the big rooster. He'd bow up to the rooster and say, "Come on, big rooster!" Thankfully the rooster did NOT take him up on the offer. Rylee and Peyton both took a minute or two to warm up to the idea of the chickens rushing them when they had a handful of cheerios but eventually enjoyed it as much as Brady.
I think this is when Brady was debating whether he could take one of the chickens or not.
The "Best" picture of the three of them and yes, if this is the "best" you definitely don't want to see the rest.
Daddy's girl, ya think?
Aforementioned "Big Rooster" By the way, I think that's his official name now.

What's better in springtime than a little front porch rocking?

Farewell Good Friend!
Well, it's over. Don't worry nothing serious or life-altering is over, just ER. Yes, to answer the thoughts in some of your heads (all three of you) I am writing a post about the tv show ER. While I am well aware in recent years (like, at least the last 5) it has been well, let's just say, not up to it's original level of excellence; it has, for better or worse, been a part of my Thursday nights for the last 14 years. That's right folks, I can't keep up with project 365 which is only taking ONE picture a day for a year, but I can keep up with a tv show for 14 years. I started watching during the very first season which was my senior year of high school and have faithfully watched ever since. I've missed a show or two here and there over the years but never missed enough to lose the plot lines and there were many Thursday nights during the infant years with my kids it kept me company.
It has also fed my desire to be part of the medical community. For many years I was convinced that being a doctor or nurse was the career for me. But, as I grew older and realized that the sight of other people's blood and other bodily fluids made me feel physically ill it became a less realistic career choice. I was pretty sure people did not want a doctor who needed to leave the room to vomit because they were bleeding. So, hence, my devotion to ER-it allowed me to live vicariously through the doctors and nurses on the show (although not the doctor whose arm was cut off by a helicopter blade on the roof of the hospital and then a few years later was squashed under a helicopter when it crashed outside the hospital). I became attached to some of the characters, as my husband will tell you about the time I sat on the bed and sobbed uncontrollably when Dr. Green (Anthony Edwards) died of a brain tumor. They brought his daughter back for the final show as a potential med student, good move NBC.
So this post is my tribute to a show who filled my Thursday nights from 10:00 to 11:00. Thanks for the memories (even the completely unrealistic ones)!

A Wedding To Remember
On Friday my mom, Jon, and I attended a wedding. It was the wedding of Q and U. Meaning the letters Q and U cause you know their meant to be together. Peyton's class had the wedding on Friday, which is really just a fun way of teaching the kids that Q and U are always together in words. All the boys were Us and all the girls were Qs. Peyton actually had two Qs with him (but we won't go into what having two brides means)! Here are the happy couple(s).
Peyton and Emily

Peyton and Taylor
And what's a wedding without a little dancing? Here's Peyton and Reid breaking it down to the cowboy song. Can't you just see this group at a real wedding in about 20 years?
