My Baby Boy is Three!

Brady is three today. I can't believe it's been three years since he made his dramatic entry into the world. And if you know Brady, you know dramatic is what he is every day. He was my second born, my middle child, and will always be my baby boy. My c-section with him wasn't scheduled until March 14th so he was a little early. My blood pressure was too high so they decided to go ahead and take him early since he was considered full term at 37 weeks. He arrived at 10:20 pm via "emergency" c-section. He shares a birthday with my cousin and college roommate, Carrie (Sidenote: Happy Birthday Caroline-Hope you are enjoying your free day at Disney!) and was born just a day before my big brother Ryan's birthday. Ryan wanted to know why we couldn't have just wanted an hour and a half but the doctor wasn't very cooperative.

Here are just a few of my favorite things about Brady

• The way he says chocolate-it kinda of sounds like . . .choco-latte.
• How funny he is-is facial expressions, his perfect comedic timing even when he doesn't know what how funny he is being.
• His absolute fearlessness-running, jumping, etc. (Except heights-he's not so much on high places)
• When he says "Mommy, don't hold me like a baby. I a Big Boy!"
• When he does things like sticking fruit loops up his nose-it makes for good stories.
• The way he can make an outfit out of anything i.e. plastic bucket on head as hat.

A trip down memory lane: My littlest baby at 6lbs. 11 oz. Meeting big brother for the first time. Mischevious from an early age. Could he be any cuter? It's a good thing he is so cute; it keeps him from getting into a ton more trouble.

Disney Birthday

For the last few years we have given Peyton the choice of a birthday party with friends or Disney for the day. Until this past year it was always Disney for the day. So, this year Brady was old enough for the choice, too. He also chose Disney and decided it would be ok if his big brother came along also. Jon's parents were already headed to Florida so they changed their agenda slightly to meet us for the day as well. We headed up Wednesday night and stayed at Disney so we could be at the park bright and early. Except for some mildly bad weather mid-day we enjoyed a great day and saw everything we wanted to see (and Peyton was finally tall enough for Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Railroad). Brady meets Buzz. A group effort to try and remove the sword from the stone. Brady's first "ears." Brady had one character he requested to meet and we ran into Pluto as soon as we arrived at the park. Brady had worn himself slap out.

The Super Virus!

You know our family; we're all about superheroes around here.
Well, the super virus has arrived. . .the super chicken pox virus that is.
Rylee Jane has come down with a nice little case of the itchy, red spots. Now back in my day (oh boy, that phrase so easy came to my fingers to type-mark this down in the "how I know I'm getting old book") this wouldn't be so uncommon or all that big a deal other than the itchiness and missing school for a week. And really, which one of us wasn't happy to scarifice a little itchiness to stay home for an entire week when you really didn't feel all that bad anyway.
But, now days we all know the chicken pox vaccination is there to avoid the uncomfortableness of this lovely virus. So, when people hear Rylee has chicken pox the next question is automatically, "Didn't she get the vaccination?" Yes, she did. . .but apparently the strain of virus she contracted "broke through" the vaccination. It must have ate its Wheaties.
Don't worry, I'll spare you a picture of her poor, little red polka-dotted body but let me assure you it will be a photo for Project 365.

First Week of Project 365

Well, I've finally finished scrapping the first week of the year and Project 365. Let me assure you it is not exciting but it is an accurate look into a typical week around here. The kit I used is "Shabby Snowkisses" from Shabby Miss Jenn Designs (my plan is to use a different kit for each month of the year) and the template is from Elemental Scraps.

Here's my photo: This photo was taken of Brady on August 15, 2006 which would have made him almost 6 months old. On the 22nd of February he will be 3! This swing was one of the few places he would sit for any length of time (and for Brady "length of time" meant more than 5 minutes).

Well, it's Tuesday and I actually have a contribution this week for Two Thumbs Up Tuesday. I actually took these pictures a couple of months ago to use on a Tuesday and am just now getting around to it! My two thumbs up is the . . .Bacon and Jelly sandwich! Hey-don't say ick and turn your nose up until you've tried it.

A little history: My mom, Becky, and her two sisters, Cathy and Jacque, enjoyed bacon and jelly sandwiches growing up. Their grandmother, Gramma Nichols to me, was the one who introduced this delicacy to them. In turn, my mother and aunts made them for their children growing up and a number of us still eat them today. My cousin Carrie and I would have them at least once a week while we lived together in college. Now, some of us enjoy them toasted while others (me included) prefer plain old white bread. Also, the flavor of jelly is up to personal taste, mine is grape. I believe my mother prefers strawberry.

I know this sounds gross but I promise if you try it you will like it especially if you are like me and like the sweet/salty thing i.e. chocolate-covered pretzels. And just for verification I would appreciate it if a number of my family members commented on this post to back me up on this fine choice of a meal!
